[Japanese] Tetsuo 1 and 2

Ok, I watched the second Tetsuo yesterday Tetsuo II: Body Hammer so thought it was time to open a topic about Tetsuo 1 and 2 since nobody dared to do it yet

So i will start with the first one

Excellent movie and probably nothing like you've seen before (if you haven't seen it that is ). The black and white atmosphere, the stop motions... Everything is really good. It is weird, surreal and really one of the kind. I have big big respect for the work of this director cause this movie is very low budget, he actually made all the special effects by himself and managed to make one of the best piece of art ever showed on screen.
I love everything about it, this movie really moved me and the Rolland 505 soundtrack is still haunting me

Well..... unfortunatly, I really didn't get the same entousiasm as the first one.
Dont give me wrong, there are some good things in it, some of the visuals especially are nice, but for the rest, mouha....
Maybe I missed the black and white atmosphere, it is not the same.... The music is also not as good as the first one, there is almost no stop motion which really created that very weird atmosphere in the first one. The story/plot was really not necessary: sorry but the story is crap
The tension and rythme are less good and the body transformation is also not showed as nice
Anyway, not a masterpiece at all in my opinion although worth the look but I'll stick with the first one
