The Lady and the Highwayman (1989)

I used to watch this movie with my mother when I was 10 or 11, it's about some nobleman turned highwayman who rescues a noblewoman from her forced marriage and, on another occasion, helps the rightfull king escape to France. Years later, when the rightfull king is on the throne again, the highwayman is still robbing people (in a Robin Hood-esque way) and making sure the Republicans don't overthrow the king. The king doesn't know this by the way. The lady joins the king's court and from that point the story starts off.

It has lots of swordfights, horseriding, galantry and other such great ingredients for a film AND it has a very young Hugh Grant as the highwayman.

Out of sentiment, a 7.5/10 (without the sentiment, it would've been a 7/10)
