My opinion:
I saw this jewel of the seventh art for the first time about one hour ago, and the only thing I can say is that I confirm all the good that has been said about it. I just found they dashed the end off a little bit (I mean scenaristicly spoken, I think they get over the problem with the cops to easily), but we don't care of that, since the rest of the movie is very very good. Boorman manage to create a huge tension with a quite sober production, very far away from the very nervous shot we would have nowaday, and the result is all the more fascinating and stressful. Furthermore, all the actors are very good.
If you watch it, you will never forget it.
