Free Rainer (aka Reclaim Your Brain) From Hans Weingartner
Quote :
Frustrated, because he is forced to produce bad TV-shows, a manager of a TV-station, enters the station and manipulates the ratings, to initiate a TV-revolution
From the director of The Edukators which is better imo This one is also quite interesting, with a similar direction with activism and people who want to change the world/society. This time it is about TV and some activists who try to change TV quotas and make the channels believe that the cultural programs have bigger audience. Nice ideas and nice message. A tinny bit too optimistic but good!

Don't waste your time with pseudo radical wannabe revolutionist. Hollywood (Matrix, Fight Club) and this German stuff, is all fake. They never cross a certain border and never question the fundamental values of a society like many radicals do.
For example, radicals question the top-down structure of the TV, and not just "i want to see more arte"...

What top down structure of the TV are you refering to? TV wouldn't be such a bad media if it was playing interesting things, I think in that sense the movie as a point. What I found a bit bad in the movie, is the optimism of the ending, I mean, I think people would be normally way more stupid than this....
Edit: and I like ARTE (at least I used to like it when I was in France, there were some very good programs (also very very good cinema programs) but that was years ago. Now in Holland, it is only in German so I dont get a thing of it )

Well the TV is a medium and this Forum is a medium. But the TV does not have a "Add Comment" Form where i can contribute.
But that's not the problem with these kind of movies, it's the wrong impression you get of how the critic at the authority looks like. They just point the kids in a direction where they can not "win", where they don't pose a thread.
