| Green Hat (Lu mao zi) From Fendou Liu IMDB- Spoiler:
The Green Hat deals with the interesting subject of marital adultery and ‘a green hat’ is a Chinese metaphor and slang expression for a woman who cheats on her husband. The main story (that begins to unfold about halfway) is about a man who is deceived by his wife, when she has found a lover who is better at satisfying her sexual needs.
This Chinese production starts off somewhat awkwardly, as it seems its director, Liu Fendou, shifts to and fro between genres, before finally getting to the core issue: the ancient question of infidelity and disloyalty. But before Liu tackles the main issue he starts off with a heist/crime setting with characters that later appear irrelevant to the story. But when the main issue has arrived, there are several breathtaking scenes that give an intimate insight into how people can get alienated within a relationship. There is, for instance, the scene in which the main character confronts his wife’s lover with their affair, which keeps you at the edge of your seat
Nice Another one I really enjoyed watching, and it is a debut film so this looks promissing for this director Nice story about love, sexual furstrations and adultery Really enjoyed the story and the fact that it changes in the middle, 2 stories which apparently dont have anything to do with each other but in fact, they do in a way. It is touching, funny (cause there are lots of sharp humour in it), crual but without been mean, sharp but always in a soft way. Maybe a tiny bit too soft, I would have liked it even sharper (but that is just me ). Some critics said it was too long, I didn't think so, also not slow at all, the scenes are actually all very nice! One to discover | |

| i agree fully, except that i thought it was just a bit too long.. this hardly wasn't a problem for me, but i can understan dothers fall over this... for a debute it was very promising idd.. experimental and wicked by moments..
