| Yes Kryll Do as you wish I'm planning to re-group some of the categories soon I know it is not very easy sometimes to classify a movie if it has more than one genre so you can just choose the predominant one. | |

| If it's more of a social drama, put it in Drama, if it's more romantic, put it in Romance Else, there's always Alien/Unclassable | |

| it fits more the name road movie hehe but all those dialogue-based movies are always hard to class i guess it's always a combination of drama, comedy, romance etc.. | |

| There are different kinds of Road Movie. Funny Roadmovies, Dramatic Roadmovies, Horror Roadmovies, Fantasy Roadmovies, etc. So if you just cut off the roadmovie idea, see what's left of the movie and class it like that! I looked up Paris, Texas on IMDb and the Plot Outline says: - Quote :
- A man wanders out of the desert not knowing who he is. His brother finds him, and helps to pull his memory back of the life he led before he walked out on his wife and son four years before. As his memory returns, he makes contact with various people from his past.
Seems it's a Drama to me, which may have Comedy or other genre-specific elements in it of course...

| Reality/Realistic, for things that are beyond drama (a more real life story kind of category) Alien/Mental, for things such as Donnie Darko, In the Mouth of Madness, Eternal Sunshine of a spotless mind, vanilla sky, a beautiful mind, etc... u know .. mental movies, with an alien aspect to it | |

| i think reality could just go in drama. and alien/mental in unclassable, it was called alien/unclassable first, the name just got shorter but the category didnt change.
this way you dont get too much categories, which is better if ou ask me.

| mmm, the thing is I tried to reduce already the number of genre cause we need to avoid too much overlap, and I know it is still quite difficult (that is the all problem with having categories by genre but also difficult and messy to do without). And think the mental aspect can be very subjective and everybody will have a different approach to it. For instance, In the mouth of madness is horror in my view and a beautifull mind just a simple drama. So this can really be different depending on people, if you see what I mean For the reality/realistic, think generally these movies have a predominant genre such as drama For the aliens, as Toffetomas says, it is the inclassable category Think comedy drama can be used for what you call speelfilm in dutch - we can maybe rename this one? But I do understand that it is sometimes really hard to classify them... I'm open to any suggestion but think the more genre, the harder it will get! | |

| I think, we could also use the Thema category as well more for such things. Like if you want to regroup all movies which you think have very realistic aspects... dunno, just an idea | |
