As good as it gets - James L. Brooks (1997)

Last weekend I watched "As good as it gets". It's a story about a writer with OCB (Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour, not the rolling paper ), a single mother with a sick child and a gay painter. On the one hand, it's a thirteen in a dozen love story, on the other hand, I was amazed to discover, a really sweet story about people who come to accept each other for who they are.

I know I make it sound a bit lame now, but it's a blast to watch and I found myself laughing my ass of several times during the movie. Jack Nicholson plays the writer, an amazing performance by the way, who, thanks to his mental state, has no filter whatsoever as to what he can and what he can't say to people...which of course leads to VERY uncomfortable situations...

So if you're looking for a feel good movie which is enormously funny and doesn't conform to "the rules of Romantic Comedy", this should be the one you watch!
