Another Unidentified object from planet Guy Maddin! A bit less blow minding than Careful but also very good. This talented director is just unbelievably creative and inventive, his movies seem to be out of time. It is filmed mostly in black and white (with sometimes some touches of colors here and there) with a grainy film which makes you think you are watching a movies from the 20's but dont be fooled: the work done on the images is absulutelly fantastic!! A total mental and visual trip full of references to the old b&w movies with music, cynical humour, absurdism and poetry. Difficult to tune in the first half hour but it is worth to keep concentrating cause Maddin's movies require a bit of attention to appreciate the details but it is a pure hallucinatory beauty!
