A high school teacher's unusual experiment to demonstrate to his students what life is like under a dictatorship spins horribly out of control when he forms a social unit with a life of its own

Interesting movie! Will make you think on how easy it is to manipulate the masses. Unfortunatly I also think that it is very unlickelly that things would happen this way, not subtile enough and there would be much more students who would go against it or probably noone would turn things this far. I mean from start it is clear where the teacher wants to go... A bit more complexity and some different aspects would have made it more powerfull in my opinion cause it turns so crazy in just such a short time that it makes it really difficult to believe...
But overall, not bad!

*sigh* German Cinema. I hate this one, it gives a false impression and makes you come to wrong conclusions.

The original story and social experiment 1 is interesting, but it only shows a couple of aspects on socials behavior of kids. a) the power a teacher has over children, b) group dynamics. This alone does not lead to fascism and this alone is not even the "base" of fascism. There are many many more elements that played a major role back in 1933.

However, i watched this because of Jürgen Vogel, he played a very good role in "Der Freie Wille", so i had a little bit of hope for this movie. I got disappointed. Simplifications, stereotypes and finger pointing...

sorry for ranting Sad

I agree that it is way too simplified but I dont think it makes you come to wrong conclusion. I saw it more as a warning on how easy it is to manipulate the masses and I think it has a point! But so simplified that it looses its power I think
