although it is a zombie movie, the DVD-box claims it to be a "Drama, Horror, Comedy, Romance"... and if the box doesn't really know, that means it fits in the "unclassable"-section!
somewhere in the late 50's, early 60's, an evil spacecloud has descended on the world and it caused the dead to come alive again! a terrible zombie-war breaks out and havok is reeked! Fortunately (?) a big corporation called ZomCon found a solution to the zombieproblem: they invented a collar, that opnce put around a zombie's neck and activated, takes away the zombie's natural craving for human flesh, and turns them into human-friendly slaves! and offcourse, EVERYONE wants its own zombie now...
in the small of Willard, the Robinson family adopts a Zombie too... Timmy, the son of the family, calls it Fido, like a dog! at first, Fido is used as a slave and as a pet, but as time evolves a strong band begins to grow between the boy and his zombie, as well as between the mother and Fido, the zombie! untill the collar fails, and Fido starts feasting on the neighbors...
Now this movie, it truly is something else! It is a zombie movie, paying tribute to and parodising at the same time, genreclassics such as "day of the dead"... but it is much more, it has a genius layer of social commentary, it is funny from the 1st to the last second and it even has a romantic touch in it!!!
GREAT acting, an unconventional story, beautiful lighting and moodsettings, great humour and a social layer... what more can one want from zombie-related movies???!! Gore, perhaps... this feature shows little gore, but -strangely enough- is not a bad thing in this one!!!
a MUST-SEE for everyone, not just horror or zombie-freaks!!!
8.5/10!!!

I watched it something like a month ago I think and I must say, it's great!
Since zombie flicks don't score any lower than an 8 in my book, this movie receives a stunning 9/10!
